Late Tackle
One of the most familiar voices on BBC Radio 4, John has presented and reported for the main evening arts strand, Front Row, since it began in 1998, and now presents Newsnight Review on BBC 2.
He has presented many programmes and series for Radio 4 including; The Cultural State, The Fixers, Kaleidoscope, Stealing Beauty and Pick of the Week.
 In September 2006 John presented an exclusive and far-reaching, interview with Elton John’s writing partner – Bernie Taupin – giving an unusually in-depth profile of the more retiring side of this prolific partnership.
 John began as a reporter on local newspapers in North London before university and he began his radio career in 1990, presenting and reporting for the Radio Five’s The Mix
 A brief career as a rock-and-roll bass player interrupted the flow for a couple of years until a return to journalism and the start of a radio career in 1990.
John has made features and documentaries for Radio One and Five Live and has written about art and cultural issues for publications including The Observer and The Art Newspaper.
 He is co-author of ONE – a book featuring the work of his photographer  brother Robert, and in 1996 he edited the pioneering internet magazine –
 So – a full and varied CV of arts, and garnished with sport (John presented  Radio 4’s late night sports programmes: Late Tackle and The Sports  Programme) - and a CV to ensure John brings unique authority and colour to all his presentations .
